Game 56 was significantly shortened by a sick GM. This then, is part deux.
The party reports to Clemens of Desforia. After some discussion, they decide to speak with Lonvele about the machinations behind Constable Sir Denil Chahryn’s fall. Florentina (Nina) heads for the inn to set up a meeting room; the rest of the part spends some time listening to the cases being presented at court. Nina comes back and informs the group that all is set for just after first bell; The Motley Fool came back, saying there was an influx of injured people at the Peonian temple. The party heads to their meeting with Lonvele.
The group makes arrangements with him to look into the question of what is behind Sir Denil’s problem; he quotes them a price of 250d, and Sir Tirn of Selvos gives him a payment of 500d. He mentions to the group that they may be invited to a party; Maketa Seenaë Dyren heads back to the castle to check on Nina and the Motley Fool.
Seenaë gets directed to the Fool’s room upon arriving; Nina tells her what she knows of his condition. After an examination, Seenaë finds all is well with him. They plan on cutting his arm free just after second bell. Master Clemens comes with Tamarie and she delivers invitations to the party Lonvele mentioned. Once second bell rings, they cut the Fool’s arm free, and massage some life back into it. They change his bedding and wash him once he recovers. After they have him settled, they return to the inn.
The party gets dressed for the evening. Sir Kjarri of Setara‘s friend Bjorn arrives to pick up – literally – Palycia of Meldamar. They walk to the house where the party is held; a block away, they can hear the music and smell the food. Upon arrival, they are each given a mug of ale, and all weapons are peacebonded. The stairs up to the house are lined by tables filled with delicacies; the footmen have small hogsheads of dark ale. They get introduced to many people, including the former harbor master and his replacement. The entrances of Sir Reynald Milaka, Prince Anaflas Milaka, Sir Temilin Chahrvn and Andasin IV are quite impressive. The prince motions to us, as well as to another group later seen to be the King’s Voice, and everyone heads upstairs to join the king. Dame Nyada is standing upstairs; she informs the party that the dowager is with the king and the prince. She wants to meet the party afterwards. Everyone is introduced to the lady; we learn that she raised Sir Reynald after the death of his mother. After introductions are over, all return downstairs and talk more with the King’s Voice. After a while, dawn comes… but the sun seems to rise on the wrong side of the city.
