Bio:

Sir Denil Chahryn is the grand-nephew of Sir Grolis Chahryn, Earl of Selvos and lord of all northwestern Kanday. The constable’s fiscal reputation was excellent. His payments to the royal treasury are always on time and usually exceed the demand. Sir Denil personally owns a 40 percent stake in the Geldara’s Butterfly, a coastal nivik owned by mercantyler/usurer [Master Damaen of Hilome|Damaen of Hilome]]. His staff, however, knew the truth but seemed unwilling or afraid to speak. Something sinister was happening in the castle.

Sir Denil is a strutting peacock who takes every opportunity to be the center of attention. He hosts monthly events for local nobility, and stays in close contact with the mangai as well. The monthly events included, until 723, Commander of the low Guard – Sir Keri of Spondyner, Commander of the High Guard – Sir EƤril Meldar, Master Karna of Lithro (a caravan master) and Master Damaen of Hilome (a shipmaster). The events were typically held at the castle for the ease and convenience of it (less competition, or trouble). Sir Denil always liked his drugs, but until the winter of 723, the others treated his drugs as they did their drink; when it changed Sir Denil filled the table (and more) with courtesans and loose company that did not suit the original casual air.

By the time Winter Court 723 rolled around, Sir Denil seemed perpetually drunk. Sir Temilin Chahrvn asked the Prince’s Voice to help Sir Denil discretely leave the city and recover in the House of Renewal, just west of the city of Aleath. The House of Renewal was attacked in an attempt to get to Sir Denil a day after his arrival. Fortunately, the Prince’s Voice had set up reinforcements and protections for Sir Denil. After the attack, Sir Denil was cautiously moved back into the city to the Laranian temple, where he awoke a day later. The instigator of the attack, believed to be Damaen of Hilome, had already left Aleath on the Triberties (a ship on which he is the owner and master merchant).
