So, with the visit with the Riddlemaster over, the party is free to return to the boat.
The captain needs to go into a port for resupply, and suggests Thay, on the coast of Melderyn; but should only be there for a day if you don’t want to stay longer. They should make the voyage in about 2 days.
Then, they will need to stop in Aleath. hat branch of the voyage should take 6 days (in perfect conditions).
The trip from Aleath to Selvos should take 2 days and a bit.
Overnight on the 8 of Nolis, the ship departs Andris Point and departs for Thay. It should take about 2 days with nice weather and good winds. Late on the 10th, the ship pulls into the Horka River and makes its way downstream. The ship pulls into harbor and docks. The captain takes the party to a shanty bar and they send a runner off with one of their crests to find out what inn has room. Jorlon’s Inn has space for the party; it’s located near the Laranian temple. The party makes plans to be back onboard on the evening of the 12th.
They head for the inn, take rooms, then leave their armor behind to be cleaned by the staff and head for the baths.
The party runs across a few local Laranians as they walk to the baths. The Laranians travel with men-at-arms who wear the city’s crest. There is a bit of a wait for the baths; price is 2d, laundry service is 1d. Their weapons are put in a locker and Sir Tirn of Selvos is given the key. Maketa Seenaë Dyren also gets her hair cleaned. They spend some time in a hot pool, then a scrub down, then a cool pool, then they dry off and pay for the services.
The party steps out into the streets. Sir Kjarri of Setara and Seenaë decide to go visit the Laranian temple, but first they go back to the inn to fetch their regular clothes.
They head to the temple; the guard at the gate greets them. They spend some time in prayer then head to the Peonian temple. Kjarri and Seenaë recall that the Peonian temple in Thay is the seat of their primate and that she is regarded as a living saint. They are met in the temple by a. young woman who goes to fetch an older woman, who brings them to her office. They make introductions.
After spending some time here, they head to the Halean temple to meet up with Florentina (Nina) and have lunch. Afterwards, they join Tirn at the guild of arcane lore. They pay for a membership so that they may consult the library.
After spending some time in the library, they all return to the inn for dinner. The inn gets busy throughout the night; there is a bard singing, and at one point the party recognizes the refrain of one of his songs: this is the one about Saint Setara. Hervé keeps the bard supplied with coin to sing all the songs about the Prince’s voice.
