We’ll skip ahead to the 11th of Larane (18 days), and the start of the Selvos Wool fair. You’ve all been invited to a wedding!
During the 2 weeks since the party arrives back in Selvos, Maketa Seenaë Dyren spent much of her time with the local Belsirasan priest trading information on Larani for information on St. Belsirasan.
Folks start to roll into Selvos for the Wool Fair. At noon the commencement parade starts; the parade is led by last year’s winner of the Grand Melee, Palycia of Meldamar. The party is invited to an engagement dinner at Sir Tirn of Selvos‘s family’s home. As the night progresses, more and more people move the party outdoors. The party goes late into the night. At one point, Florentina (Nina) loses sight of her monkey; after a frantic search, he’s found tucked in a bed in the workers’ quarters. As the party winds down, Seenaë heads back to her father’s to sleep.
Seenaë and Sir Kjarri of Setara attend morning services. Near the end of the service, Nina appears and nudges the two of them, informing them that Hervé and Tamarie are waiting for them at the back of the room. They are informed that something has happened: the group leaves the temple, and Kjarri and Seenaë are brought up to speed on the attack on Jarsyl of Losyin.
When the group arrives at the shipyard, they find Tirn nose to nose with Tavraen: the party talks him down, and Kjarri uses psychometry on the mallet that was found. He “sees” the attack; Kjarri recognises the aggressors but isn’t sure if they were at the party or not. After hearing them described, Seenaë thinks she knows them, but isn’t sure from where. Nina is certain they are of “The Family” (Thieve’s Guild) and that the man in the hood was always very respectful to her. He works for Arviel, a freelancer for the Thieve’s Guild. Hervé has seen them both on the docks. He thinks the one with one hand may be Cosen.
Once again the party manages to talk Tirn down. Nina will go to the docks and see if she can find the men to question them. Tirn and Kjarri go following a Morgathian’s trail.
