Sir Tirn and Sir Kjarri wandered around Selvos, hunting Morgathians. They found the lair, but not the “man”.
Lady Kaminyle of Ryvila reported to Valenar of Emyn (Mercantyler/Ursuer) who contacted Meketa Seenae directly and ask for her help finding a missing caravan (wagon of wool, a bullock, and three men). With magic and skill the party tracked the missing wagon to the village of Burdy. There the reeve (Croral of Hanvele) is absolutely terrified of the man he knows as Meryl of Sann (the third man in the caravan).
The local Peonian priest (Tomis of Eryn) threw shade on Sir Kjarri for not saving them from Meryl sooner. The party finds Mirin tied up and badly injured beyond the village. They find the scattered remains of Norarus in a hunter’s shelter some distance away. There is no soul to talk to and the party has to use magic (and divine senses) to be assured that the remains are those of Norarus. In the center of the shelter is a copper bowl with Morgathian symbols on its edges.
The party decides to return to Selvos. Harik (Sir Tirn’s Guildmaster) is cursed and can’t remember anything about Meryl, forgetting things just a few moments after he’s been told. He hands off Tirn’s message (in writing) to Capatin Andrain Charun, Lady Larissa and some guy named Jarvins (a visiting Healean Paladin).
What happens next?
The party arrives in town and decides to begin by looking for Larissa of Kephar. They hear Palycia of Meldamar’s voice and head for her, certain she will know where Larissa is. Palycia is drinking while Bjorn wrestle. The party informs her that they are looking for Larissa, and why. She and Bjorn will help them find her and the group heads for where Larissa was last seen, near the Master of the lists. Maketa Seenaë Dyren notices that Palycia is not totally sober so on the way she stops at a sib vendor, grabs a hangover cure and then joins up with the others.
The party hears yelling from inside a tent and heads towards the commotion; in the tent they find Larissa and man who is ranting. It seems he bought a lucky item from a perfumer to help him win at the joust. She informs him that he has broken guild law, temple law and city law with this purchase. Sir Tirn of Selvos and Florentina (Nina) head for the perfumer’s stall while the rest of the party keeps and eye out for the suspected Morgathian.
There is a young man running the stall; he informs the party that the perfumer has gone to get some food. Seenaë keeps an eye out and notices that a buzz has risen in the area. She focuses on those who aren’t participating in the hubbub. Nina notices someone near the guild hall and calls out to Noravus. He begins to back away from her, then turns and legs it. He trips over a greased pig, allowing Nina to catch up.
Nina calls on Halea and the spell the Morgathian was casting to turn himself into a flock of crows fails, and he is stunned. All his magic items fall away and Tirn removes a magic item from his belly, the hard way. The party brings him to the Laranian temple and he is sealed inside a barrel. Most of the party go up to the temple for spiritual cleansing while Nina heads to the Halean temple.
As they finish, the Serolan is waiting at the last station. He offers the services of Larissa to question the boy. The party reunites at the mage guild.
They are directed to a room on the third floor. There is one chair here and nothing else; no lights, no windows.
Viran Harak of Chandar lights six candles and places them on the floor around the chair. Harak and Larissa question the boy, and it turns out he did not know his boss was a Morgathian, did not know the tokens were magical, and he was just dupe. His penance is to find the cheapest way to get holy water to the new parts of Kaldor, but first he must to the Halean temple and beg their forgiveness.
