After making (very) sure two of the three mages were dead, the third was revealed to be the Penultimate tome – Lothrim’s Grimoire; the book in which it is believed contains the secrets of the gargun’s inception. The last penultimate Gargun chose death over imprisonment, claiming his spirit was trapped in a body that could feel nothing.
The book (in the form of the third mage) was quite helpful and very peaceful. He offered help when Tirn was trying to burn the bodies, and explained the multiple-realities theory of existence to Kjarri. Thirist refused to talk to it, and most of the party seemed uncomfortable in his ever-watchful presence.
The group agreed to bring the book to Azadmere.
The journey by boat was (surprisingly) uneventful. Except for what seemed to be a mental invitation from the Riddlemaster from Anris point. The party docked at Talmar in Garvin Bay.
The Emissary brought them without too many questions to the railhead, but as they approached the Khuzdun fort – the Commander insisted the book be gagged and well bound. As a sentient object, the Khuzdun would not accept its oath of secrecy.
The party took the rail to Zerun. There, they meet Crown Prince Kazar Trazakh, Lady Halia Quarmain (his wife), and Lady Felband (his advisor). They suggested taking this to the king.
