Our heroes chased down a fleeing clerk only to see him stabbed by a mysterious stranger before he suddenly vanished. After seeing to the cleaning and consecration of the village’s chapel and graveyard, they leave Gerdel better than they found it. The only lead left would be the visiting woodward who bought tin from the local metalsmith. Will this woodward know where the bandits in Hishe got their swords?

26 – Creag Hill Adventure

Lead 1: Is Sir Tessero and his charge ok, did they get to Selvos safely. Sir Tirn’s crow is returning with the news. Lead 2: A woodward and his lass bought Tin from the local metalsmith in Grelda. As a key ingredient for making swords, it’s a bit suspicious and could be the source of the bandit’s steel – but the woodward is somewhere beyond Hyen, working on the roads. Lead 3: ???

The party is victorious over the bandits, but the dead men-at-arms and a knight from Hemher are missing. Sir Tirn is determined to find their bodies and see them put to rest properly. The ancient god of the Stag rewarded the party with boons for freeing it from defilers and bandits. The bandit leader, taken hostage, loses his mind after a single night in the cells. But as Lady Larissa learns during her questioning of the bandits, there are still answers missing: if the bandits were selling all that they took – where then did the money go? The bandits had swords but no metal armor, were they being trained to die? How did the bandits all get swords of similar make? She suspects a metalsmith at the crossroads. The party awaits reinforcements for the manor that should arrive on the morrow.

168 Bandits Found

After speaking to an ancient (and now dead) animal god of the Stag, the party learned that he was but a scavenger in his own temple. A logbook, and bandits bounty was found inside the ruined mausoleum. All the crypts were empty of bodies but full of bounty. The outside graves were something else. Far more recent, but in them were dead turned gulmorvin but with sharpened teeth, leathered skin, and slowly growing claws. Once the still dormant gulmorvin were destroyed, the party headed down the hill, intending to return at dusk and feed the old stag god a tribute of two freshly purchased hogs from the manor. On their way down, they encountered the bandits, and a fight did ensue.

167 Creag Hill Adventure

At a dinner with the Earl of Selvos, and his family, the bailiff of Hemhur arrived with horrible news: his manor lord was found out-of-his mind in a field. He had gone out with his knights and men-at-arms to deal with a local troup of bandits. The bailiff politely requested the Earl send someone to figure out what happened and perhaps heal his manor-lord, Sir Stephen Wardotte.
